Former hospice for piligrims Klösterle
The hospice for pilgrims at San Floriano/St. Florian Cloister near Laghetti in Egna/Neumarkt is one of only a few fully preserved hospices in Europe. Important visitors came to the hospice from its early days. The cloister was built in 1220 and expanded in 1300. It offered shelter to many travelers throughout its history. Albrecht Dürer is said to have stopped at the cloister’s hospice for pilgrims in 1494, on his way to Venice.
