Three Productions in Venice

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is approaching – and South Tyrol as a film location is represented also this year. Three projects supported by the IDM Film & Music Commission have made it into the official selection of the Biennale Cinema 2026.

On set: SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE MOUNTAINS

What happened to Sherlock Holmes in 1891? A TV series, currently being filmed with elaborate sequences, fight scenes, and stunts at multiple locations in the South Tyrolean mountains, investigates the mystery and tells an exciting story between mystery‑thriller and crime drama.

Behind the scenes: the mystery-thriller “Wolf”

A peculiar atmosphere pervades the forest near the location Caprile (municipality of Tesimo) – hovering between mystique and the bustle of a brightly lit film set in the middle of the night. With over 30 shooting days between April and May, the mystery-thriller “Wolf” (working title) by South Tyrolean filmmaker Nancy Camaldo is being made here.

Pasta, Wine, and Discipline

Tuscany Atmosphere in Margreid: Casòn Hirschprunn served as a filming location for the IDM-supported feature film A Stroll to Syracuse. Starring Charly Hübner and featuring many local talents both in front of and behind the camera. Follow the set visit.
