On Friday, April 10, the 39th edition of the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (BFFB) opened with the documentary "Elon Musk Unveiled: The Tesla Experiment" by South Tyrolean director Andreas Pichler (Production: Beetz Brothers), supported by the IDM Film & Music Commission.

BFFB 2026: A Strong Partnership

On Monday, March 16, an event screening of Polvo Serán took place at the Filmclub Bozen, attended by director Carlos Marques-Marcet and producer Giovanni Pompili.

Local Talents: Q&A with ... Katharina Pöder

Bolzano native Katharina Pöder is a makeup and hair artist. She attended the European School of Beauty, Massage, and Make-up in Milan and completed specialization courses in this field. She works as a makeup artist/mask designer for theater and film productions both domestically and abroad.

The 2026 Calls for the IDM Music Fund

With an annual funding budget of 275,000 Euros, the IDM Film & Music Commission supports ambitious music projects across the entire realization process– from initial development and recording until the marketing phase. The goal is, to combine artistic quality with sustainable effects for the region.

Twelve projects funded in the first call of 2026

IDM Film & Music Commission is supporting twelve projects in the first funding call of the year. Seven of the nine Italian projects come from South Tyrol, two projects from Germany, and one from Austria. 74 shooting days are scheduled in South Tyrol for the realization of the supported productions.

Mirko Ilic is a sound designer and music composer from Bolzano, currently living in Berlin. As a sound designer, Mirko largely creates sound for TV movies, TV series, and cinema films. As a composer, his strength lies in digital music production, where he enjoys working with both electronic and acoustic sounds and instruments. His passion lies in creative projects where he can combine music and sound design.

First Call Featuring 10 Music Projects

The IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol has put out the first call for music projects after broadening its scope of responsibilities to include music funding as well, supporting a total of 10 music projects: six from Italy (all from South Tyrol/Südtirol), one from Germany, two from Austria, and one from Switzerland. These projects represent the broad musical range covered, from indie rock, folk, pop, hip-hop, R&B, and soul to experimental crossovers and even a new rock opera.

Support for 15 new projects in the last call of 2025

15 projects have been approved for funding from the IDM Film & Music Commission in the third and last call of 2025. This call focuses on projects in the preparation phase of production – seven in total. 13 film projects from Italy, eight of which from South Tyrol/Südtirol, and two from Germany have been selected for funding. 52 days of shooting are scheduled in South Tyrol.
