The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is approaching – and South Tyrol as a film location is represented also this year. Three projects supported by the IDM Film & Music Commission have made it into the official selection of the Biennale Cinema 2026. This underlines once again the high quality and international appeal of the productions funded by IDM.
The following projects will be presented in Venice:
EKLIPSE – World Premiere in the “Orizzonti” section
The feature film directed by Manuel Wetscher will celebrate its world premiere on the Lido in the renowned “Orizzonti” section, which stands for debut films and new cinematic trends. The work was produced by EUTOPIAFILM in co-production with Bozen-based Albolina Film.
IL SENSO DELLA TERRA – World Premiere in “Orizzonti – Fuori Concorso”
South Tyrol is also strongly represented in the short film sector: The short film “Il senso della terra” will celebrate its world premiere in the “Orizzonti – Fuori Concorso” (Out of Competition) section. Directed by Simone Massi and Alessandro Ingaria, the project was produced by the local Abisso Studio.
LA CORDA (THE ROPE) – Venice Gap-Financing Market 2026
The science fiction drama by director Alberto Fasulo, produced by Nefertiti Film, has been selected for the renowned Venice Gap-Financing Market 2026. This important industry platform offers selected projects the exclusive opportunity to present themselves to international film industry professionals and to close final financing gaps.
