IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol is pleased to renew its cooperation with "When East Meets West – WEMW" and is offering a delegation of 4 local film professionals the chance to take part in one of the market's activities (Inspirational Labs).
When East Meets West is one of the leading co-production markets in Europe and a point of reference for Italian producers looking to build new relationships with international financing, production and distribution partners. Every year, WEMW brings together more than 600 decision-makers, producers and potential financiers from around 40 countries. If selected, participants will have the opportunity to join one of the Inspirational Labs held during WEMW 2027. Find out more on the website.
Selected professionals will receive:
All South Tyrolean film professionals who want to explore new formats or markets in Europe and beyond, and expand their network, are eligible to apply for the WEMW 2027 Inspirational Labs.
WEMW 2027 will take place from 17 to 19 January 2027 in Trieste.
Interested professionals must submit their application via the WEMW website. Applicants may apply for the East & West Inspirational Labs by indicating two Labs of their choice. Selection will be carried out by WEMW and the partners organising each Lab.
Travel expenses are to be covered by the participant.
The application deadline is 30 October 2026.

The IDM contribution may be awarded only to local professionals.
Local professional = a film industry professional recognised as having the "South Tyrol effect", i.e. professionals who were born and/or are resident in South Tyrol and/or who are studying at, or graduated from, the ZeLIG School from the 2007–2010 course onwards.
