Film Commission
The specific goals and content of the mentoring are defined together with the mentor. The number and frequency of meetings are also tailored to the individual needs of the mentee.
The mentoring lasts for a minimum of three months. All mentoring processes started as part of this call must be completed by 31 December 2027.
IDM Film & Music Commission provides financial support for expenses directly related to the mentoring. These may include, for example, travel costs for mentoring meetings as well as participation fees for festivals, workshops or other events connected to the goals of the mentoring.
Yes. During your application, you can suggest one or more people and indicate a preference.
These suggestions are not binding for IDM Film & Music Commission. Once you have been accepted into the programme, IDM will assess whether the proposed mentors are professionally suited to the planned mentoring and whether they are available.
If necessary, IDM Film & Music Commission may suggest other suitable mentors.
Applications must be submitted via our online form, where you can also upload all required documents.
For individual applicants, the application must include, in particular, the fully completed online form, proof of the South Tyrol effect, a CV including filmography, and a motivation letter of at least 1,500 characters excluding spaces.
In your motivation letter, you should outline your professional background, your future goals and your motivation for taking part in the mentoring programme. You should also describe as specifically as possible the goals you would like to achieve together with your mentor and the time frame you expect to need.
Different documentation requirements apply in part to legal entities. Full details can be found in the complete call for applications in the download section.
First, IDM Film & Music Commission checks whether the application is complete and meets all formal requirements.
The submitted documents are then evaluated. Applicants who are considered suitable for the programme after this initial assessment will be invited to an individual interview. The interview may take place online or in person.
The selection interviews are expected to take place in November and December 2026. Applicants will be informed of the results in early 2027.
As only a limited number of mentoring places can be awarded each year, a positive assessment does not automatically guarantee admission to the programme.
Detailed eligibility requirements and all further information on the selection process and how the programme works can be found in the full call for applications in the download section.
