Eight projects funded in the first music call of 2026

Reading time

IDM Film & Music Commission supports a total of eight music projects in the first funding call of 2026. Five of the funded projects come from Italy (four of which come from South Tyrol), two from Austria, and one from Germany.

With this funding round, IDM Film & Music Commission strengthens the regional music scene and fosters international collaborations to support music productions in South Tyrol.

A diverse musical spectrum

The supported projects cover a wide musical range — from indie pop, folk, and punk to singer-songwriter music and traditional Alpine music. Several of the supported projects will be developed during residencies in South Tyrol, will adopt analog recording techniques, and will include cross‑genre approaches.

International projects:

  • Manu Delago (Austria): the new album “Environ Us” is going to be realized during a South Tyrolean residency with a 15‑piece orchestra.
  • Mother’s Cake (Austria): the band is going to produce its new album during a residency in South Tyrol, focused on using analog recording techniques.
  • joi boi (Germany): the indiepop project has received funding for its second album, blending indiepop, electronic elements, and introspective songwriting.
  • WETLOOK (Vienna): the new EP by the indie-rock band is produced in cooperation with Milan label Mars Alliance, and it is going to be realized during a residency in South Tyrol.
Take

Local projects:

  • Shanti Powa: “Panta Rhei” is the fifth album by this big band with South Tyrolean roots, featuring 17 multilingual tracks and combining reggae, rap, rock, pop, funk, and ska. The release is planned for late 2026.
  • Il Sacro Commercio: it is a concept project inspired by “Sacred Commerce” with an essential and analog sound. The physical output is planned to be a limited‑edition artist book with acetate records, texts, and visual artistic contributions (including Cristiano Godano and Cesare Pietroiusti). Music and texts are by Alessandro Cremonesi.
  • Simon & Mac (South Tyrol): the production of the EP “The Cir Session” is a site‑specific music production that links traditional Alpine music with contemporary electronics. The release is planned for autumn 2026.
  • Jason Nussbaumer (South Tyrol): with the album “Der mit dem Berg rockt!”, which positions itself between pop, “Schlager” and rock; ten original compositions are being supported. The release is planned for early 2027.
