MASO #2: Eight new short films, eight new creative teams

After its successful launch in 2024/25, MASO, the short film training programme, returns for its second edition – featuring a global perspective, an inclusive approach, and strong participation from Südtirol/South Tyrol.

The professional programme jointly initiated by the IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol and the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen enters its second year with Enrico Vannucci continuing at the helm. Eight teams from Europe and Asia have been selected to work on their projects in various workshops and mentoring sessions. Winter Journey (Antoine Stehlé, director; Jérémie Palanque, producer), Alhamraa (Waref Abu Quba, director; Khaled Homsi, producer), Can You Touch Me? (Mickey Lai, director; Sam Weishi Chua, producer), Lackings (Federica Poiana, director; Muhammad Hannan Hamza, producer),  Still (Gabriele Fusaro, director; Francesco Biscaglia, producer), Cherries (Alexandros Tsilifonis, director; Katerina Kaskanioti, producer; Anastasia Galerou-Vlassi, screenwriter), Unicorn Carrierbag (Matteo Sanders, director; Julia Haugeneder, producer), and St. Egedes Islands (Amalie Magdalena With Vedelsby, director; Iggy Augunset, producer).

The participants’ projects receive support from the following partners: Arctic Film Norway, Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen – South Tyrol, Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport of the Republic of Austria (BMWKMS) and the Austrian Economic Chambers – Film and Music Austria (FAMA), Ciclic Centre–Val de Loire, Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece, Hessen Film & Medien GmbH, IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol, and Fondo per l’Audiovisivo del Friuli Venezia Giulia.
