15 projects have been approved for funding from the IDM Film & Music Commission in the third and last call of 2025. This call focuses on projects in the preparation phase of production – seven in total. 13 film projects from Italy, eight of which from South Tyrol/Südtirol, and two from Germany have been selected for funding. 52 days of shooting are scheduled in South Tyrol.

Sherlock Holmes adventure set in the Bernese Alps – written by André Küttel and Simone Schmid and directed by Pierre Monnard and Claudia Blümhuber – will be filming for nine days in the Vinschgau valley. The near-future series Husk is scheduled for a total of six days in South Tyrol. Q.I. – Questioni Irrisolte is a comedy for the big screen about three artists who embark on a spiritual journey and will be shot entirely in South Tyrol, with a total of 24 days of shooting planned from June 2026 onwards.

Andreas Pichler will be directing the documentary Lieferung um jeden Preis – Die letzte Fahrt der Gulf Livestock, telling the story of the sinking of the cargo ship Gulf Livestock 1 with 43 crew members and almost 6,000 cattle on board. And another documentary has been selected for funding: Shut the F**** Up! Director Taisiia Kutuzova accompanies 16-year-old Ukrainian Serhij, who stands up to powerful real-estate developers and corrupt officials in his village near Kyiv.

Seven projects will receive support for the preparation of production. One of the projects, Peak Season, a series full of murder, conspiracy, and revenge, is set against the backdrop of the Sella mountain range. Ronny Trocker’s A Fever Dream explores Maria Sibylla Merian’s 1705 masterpiece, Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium. Figlia del Fieno portrays the life of an orphan during World War II, while Panoramahotel takes a mysterious turn: talented figure skater Nicole Berger returns to the now empty hotel of her parents in search of answers – but soon realises that she is not alone there. The series project Eva Dorme is based on the novel of the same name by author Francesca Melandri, who also wrote the screenplay for the series together with Catherine Linstrum. The series weaves together a mother-daughter story and the history of South Tyrol. The preparation of production of the South Tyrolean documentary Opening the Box will also be funded. Georg Manuel Zeller, who sees himself as a German “grandchild of World War II”, explores the history of his family during the Nazi regime. And last but not least, in their documentary Tra il cane e il lupo, Marco Vitale and Maria Radicchi investigate the fluid boundary between dog and wolf.

Three short films will receive support as part of the third call of this year. Lorenzo Puntoni (screenplay and direction) tells the story of a hiker who falls through the ice when crossing a mountain pass in winter and fights for his life in Accendere un fuoco. Filming for the short film Thunder e mio fratello, screenplay by Stefania Accettulli and Matteo Raffaelli, who will also direct the film, will start in April 2026. The Western-like drama follows Irene, who takes care of her brother’s horse after his death. Howl is a coming-of-age story about Nina, who reconnects with her terminally ill father through their shared passion for the sounds of nature, especially the howls of wolves, but also has to learn how to let him go.
