Synopsis

Among the mountains, Elia meets Emil, a boy running from his past. Surrounded by a nature that forces
self-reflection, a deep friendship is born, one that leads Elia to question the life he has always known.

Director: Gabriele Fusaro

Gabriele Fusaros passion for directing began in high school, where he wrote and directed Ossigeno and Solo, two short films presented at the Bolzano Student Festival, winning in their category. These early experiments sparked a deep interest in storytelling through images. This path continued at the Luchino Visconti Film School in Milan, where he specialized in cinematography. Over three years, he refined his visual approach and deepened his aesthetic awareness, skills that have profoundly shaped his direction. Learning the camera department in detail gave him technical skills and a deeper sensitivity to capturing the essential, especially in natural settings. Over the past three years, he has taken on both directing and photography roles: he directed and shot a remake of the music video Hannah Sun by Lomelda and worked as director of photography on the short Grasso and the documentary Imaging. These experiences have shaped his eye for stories that reveal what people often keep hidden. He also collaborated with Formasette, a South Tyrolean production company, on projects closely tied to the region, contributing to both production and photography. On the DMAX series Metaldetective and RAI documentaries like Cucina ad alta quota, Superare i confini, and Ragazze di montagna, he discovered my connection to stories born from real places, where the mountains are not just a backdrop but a living element. This bond with the territory is central to the film he wants to make today.

Producer: Francesco Biscaglia

Francesco Biscaglia is an Italian producer and co-founder of Red Sheep, a production company developed within Exformat Movie. He completed a B.A. in Film Production at the Luchino Visconti Film School (Milan, July 2025), where his experimental thesis explores the producer as a “creative entrepreneur” and the financing models sustaining independent cinema in the digital era. Practical modules on public funding and international coproduction have given him a concrete toolkit for budgeting, market positioning and deal-making. Through Red Sheep, he has produced short films, TV documentaries and commercials, managing funding applications with Creative Europe and regional Film Commissions such as Trentino Film Commission. His current slate includes the Italian-Bosnian documentary “Diamond Route” (in
development) and the TV documentary “Svalbard: Silent Games,” which won Best Film (Orizzonti Vicini) and Best Current-Affairs Documentary at the Trento Film Festival 2025, supported by Creative Europe. He has also managed the funding of the documentary “Nelle Pelle del Drago” with regional backing from Trentino Film Commission, as well as commercial spots for major German brands. He has participated in several international markets, including CPH:DOX, MIA, When East Meets West and NAB Las Vegas, building a network around Europe and the world. This hands-on experience has sharpened his ability to package European projects, pitch to diverse stakeholders, and adapt strategies to different markets.
