Advisory Board MASO #3

The advisory board of MASO consist of 7 film professionals, who will read and evaluate the submitted projects and make the selection of the final participating teams.

 

The elements on which the committee will assess the projects are the artistic value and feasibility of the production, it is also important to present a film without clichés and stereotypical representation.

Zsuzsanna Kiràly

Zsuzsanna Kiràly studied communication science in Vienna and Berlin. From 2009 to 2020 she worked at Komplizen Film as Head of Development. Since 2017, Zsuzsanna Kiràly has been producing artistic fiction and documentary films with her own production company Flaneur Films. These titles include amongst others "Phantasiesätze" and "Afterwater" by Dane Komljen, "Two Minutes to Midnight" by Yael Bartana and "A Flower in the Mouth" by Éric Baudelaire. Zsuzsanna Kiràly is member of the editorial board of "Revolver, Zeitschrift für Film" and of the association "HvC - Hauptverband Cinephilie". Zsuzsanna Kiràly is creative advisor to the MASO short film workshop organised by IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol. She teaches at various film schools and universities, including Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin and Universität der Künste Berlin.

Wouter Jansen

Wouter Jansen is the founder of the sales company Square Eyes. Launched in 2013 under the name Some Shorts, it changed to Square Eyes in 2019. The company represents bold, author driven features and shorts, and in close collaboration with the filmmakers it devises bespoke festival distribution and sales strategies. In the past Wouter Jansen has worked for 10 years as the head of programming at Go Short. He is an expert for Locarno Open Doors and First Cut Lab, and has been giving lectures at schools like Le Fresnoy, HEAD Geneva, Chicago School of Art and Netherlands Film Academy. He regularly engages in selection committees for funding bodies and industry programs.

Jasmina Sijercic

Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Sijercic studied in the Film Production Department at FAMU in Prague. After spending a year at the Sorbonne University in Paris, she moved to France and joined the documentary production company ISKRA, where she worked as an executive producer. In 2016, she joined Bocalupo Films, where she has been producing films ever since. She is regularly invited to serve on national and regional film funding commissions in France and is an alumna of Eurodoc, Emerging Producers, and Berlinale Talents.

Caroline Pitzen

Caroline Pitzen (*1986 in Berlin) is a filmmaker and artist. She studied Cultural Studies in Frankfurt/Oder and Madrid, as well as Art and Media at the Berlin University of the Arts under Thomas Arslan. From 2005 to 2019, she worked for the Berlinale Forum, including as a program consultant from 2011 on. Her feature film debut, “FREIZEIT or: the opposite of doing nothing,” celebrated its world premiere in 2021 at Berlin Critics’ Week and its international premiere in the competition at Cinéma du Réel in Paris, and was subsequently screened at numerous festivals worldwide. Since 2016, she has taught artistic (documentary) film, including as part of the international film education program Cinema en curs and as a lecturer at Leuphana University Lüneburg. From 2022 to 2026, she worked as an artistic research associate in the Film Department at the HfG Offenbach.

Ivan Marković

Ivan Marković is a filmmaker and visual artist born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. His documentary “Centar” premiered at Doclisboa in 2018 and was screened at numerous festivals and awarded at Beldocs, Dokufest and Arkipel. Together with Linfeng Wu, he co-directed the short film “White Bird” (Berlinale 2016) and the feature-length film “From Tomorrow On, I Will”, which premiered at Berlinale Forum in 2019. The film received the Grand Prize at the Jeonju International Film Festival and was screened at numerous festivals, including Viennale, Belfort, New Horizons, and Mar del Plata. His documentary short “Inventory” premiered at Cinéma du Réel in 2025 and was screened at numerous festivals including Doclisboa and DMZ Docs. His latest feature “Promised Spaces” premiered in the ACID section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2026.

Sarah* Claire Wray

Sarah* Claire Wray is a writer and director. They studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. During their studies, Sarah* directed at Volksbühne Berlin and Nationaltheater Mannheim. Sarah* also wrote, produced and directed the short film “HDGDL”, which was shown at the IFFF Cologne & Dortmund in 2025. Sarah* wrote scripts for the series “Black Fruit”, “WIR” and “STABIL”. They were part of several writers’ rooms for Netflix, UFA Studios, Wiedemann & Berg and Studio Zentral. In 2024, “Black Fruit” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. In 2025, the series was nominated for the German Grimme Award. Sarah*’s debut feature “Blaues Haus”, a psychological thriller, got funding from the MOIN film development fund in 2025.

Francesco Giai Via

Francesco Giai Via is a film industry expert, trainer, and programmer, based in Italy. He serves on the selection committee of the Venice International Film Festival and is a scout for the Venice Gap-Financing Market. He is Head of Studies at TorinoFilmLab, the internationally renowned development, training, and co-production platform, and Head of UNBOX, a training initiative for emerging talents within MIA Market in Rome. He is also the director of the Carbonia Film Festival, an international boutique festival in Southern Sardinia. A member of both the European Film Academy and the Italian Film Academy (Premi David di Donatello), he regularly works across talent development, project evaluation, curation and international industry networking.
